¡Zombis marchan en Madrid!

Bizarre music slowly awakens me from a midday siesta de resaca as it steadily crescendos in symphony with my peaking curiosity.  When I reach my balcony, I realize that I have somehow entered a parallel zombie universe The plaza, seized by a coup de e'zombi, boasts a myriad of zombie personalities that run the gamut from nuns and WWI soldiers to the angsty teenager.  Candid confession: the event unnerved me a bit and when I finally felt at east among the zombies, they started chanting and raising a mock corpse and limbs in the air.  So I went to the chino to buy eggs.  See video for screaming zombies.  See more!

Cumple de Noah

Fui al piso de Noah para celebrar veinticuatro años cumplido con amigos españoles.  Hablamos en español toda la noche.  Era muy divertido y buen práctica tambien.

Manifestación (Demonstration)

Leaving coffee in Plaza Mayor (a foolishly expensive decision), Noah and I encountered an intense anti-Israel manifestación at Puerta del Sol.  Tan organizado, había acróbatas.  Que bueno para ver un group animado por una causa.

Día de la Paz

jueves, 29 de enero: Día de la Paz
We celebrated Peace Day at the school today with choreographed song and dance.  Children representing each class also shared their ideas and interpretations of peace.  ¡Que cariño!

Más Nieve en Madrid

Surprising madrileños and global warming activists alike, snow fell on Madrid one more time.  And since publishing these photos, it snowed again last night: take that global warming!  Hostility and environmental issues aside, I love when it snows.  As a Floridian deprived of winter and seasons in general, I've realized that snow is the only redeeming quality of cold weather (aside from cute boots and scarves).
